Water feature construction

Accentuating the natural beauty of their golf course, Twin Oaks Country Club successfully integrated a dramatic water feature outside the clubhouse. Over the years,  the existing pond and stream element needed a long term fix that delivered the impact associated with the grandeur of the Twin Oaks Country club and golf course.

Twin Oaks contacted COST to assist with the water feature construction after previously using the company to build a majestic waterfall on hole #14. Upon completion of demolition, the company’s team of artisans mobilized to provide a waterproof shotcrete containment vessel enhanced with both simulated and indigenous natural stone. The combination of materials blend seamlessly to create a truly iconic entry experience. A multicolored paint and aging process was applied to resemble a natural waterway while the pond couples as a habitat for Koi species.

This renovation project provided a lower maintenance, longer term solution over typical liner systems which have “the” tendency to fail over time. The scope included shop drawings, ¼ scale model, and building of the main 6’ deep pond, secondary pond, 55’ simulated rockwork wall, and all other associated water feature construction work.

Another recent renovation project included the Village of Rosemont waterfall located in Monument Park. Village leaders determined the existing waterfall needed a refreshing to maintain its prominence on the intersection of Higgins and River Road. The COST team was responsible for cleaning and prepping the existing artificial rockwork. Once completed, theme painting specialists used multiple paint applications to establish rock finishes that resemble natural stone found in the Chicagoland area.
