Museum Fabrication

When guests arrive at a museum, they’re looking for an experience. They want to be fully immersed in another world of learning, whether that’s about art, history, or science.

At COST, we know how to create experiential displays that will inspire, delight, and educate. Compelling and realistic, our immersive museum exhibits do much more than entertain—they spark imaginations and inspire!

COST’s Strengths in Museum Exhibit Fabrication

With over six decades of museum exhibit fabrication, COST knows the industry well. With each new project, we strive to create unique and awe-inspiring themed environments.  We’ve worked with science centers, children’s museums, cultural institutions, visitor centers, nature centers, and many other organizations to create educational experiences.

Our team uses a wide material selection, including GFRC, FRP, shotcrete, acrylics, and epoxies, to turn theme carpentry into works of art. We create textures and finishes that are natural and realistic—even to the touch. Our use of specialized materials allows us to create exhibits and interactive displays that encourage and withstand hands-on learning.

With almost every fabrication project, we’re creating new worlds, and there are constantly new methodologies and materials emerging to help with even the most complex projects. We research and explore all the possible ways to create and deliver enriching, educational, and entertaining exhibits to museum visitors. We know how to make exhibits that stand the test of time, showcase artifacts, and tell a story.

The COST Approach to Exhibit Construction

Like many of our projects, museum exhibit fabrication begins with creative exploration and planning. Each project might involve several key groups of stakeholders, experts, and personnel. Our project managers have tremendous organizational and interpersonal skills to guide the journey. Our goal is to make a smooth transition from design concept to projection completion.

To get the most lifelike exhibits, we often employ both physical and 3D modeling. Our construction and installation crews work side-by-side with museum staff and the design team to ensure we meet all required specifications. Sculptural elements should catch the eye and enhance the experience. Each exhibit space should tell a story. Our end goal is a final outcome that wows.
